Various Historicals and Terrain Catch-Up

These various projects have been finished between April and October of 2021.

First up we have 8x Perry Miniatures British Light Infantry. These are plastic and were a bit of a pain to paint if I'm being honest. Detail was a bit shallow in places. I think they turned out ok though. Will be using them for both The French & Indian War and the American War of Independence using Muskets & Tomahawks, Songs of Drums and Tomahawks, and Sharp Practice. With Zeal & Bayonets!

28mm Reaper Campfire. Useful for pretty much any period or genre you could ever think of.

15mm Blue Moon Cabin. Will work for both North America or Eastern Europe. Will be used mostly for Chain of Command and Silver Bayonet.

15mm JR Miniatures Destroyed Factory. Have had this beast for about 8yrs and finally decided to paint it up. Measures approx. 18"x11.5". The chimney is about 5.5" tall. Very useful for my 15mm WW2 games.

6mm Church. The church is actually a re-purposed Thomas Kincaid knicknack. Will be used for my various 6mm projects including ACW and WW1.

A few 20mm soft plastic Afghan Insurgents. I've got a host of rulesets to try for modern Iraq/Afghanistan. More to come in future.

28mm Renedra Early Medieval/Dark Ages building. To be fair could probably be used through the 18th Century if pushed.

28mm Warlord WW2 US Infantry. I will be honestly using these for Horror gaming such as Achtung Cthulhu etc. as my only WW2 in 28mm I have is Pacific theater.

Another 28mm Renedra Early Medieval/Dark Ages building.

28mm Cabbage Patch.

Absolutely gorgeous and fun to paint 28mm Bad Squiddo Female Viking Archers!

20mm or 1/72 ESCI and Airfix US Army Skirmishers for my ACW Sharp Practice project.

28mm Sign Stones.

15mm Dutch Garage.

28mm Wargames Foundry Pirates. Still have a metric shedload of these to do but am kind of doing them in bits and pieces whenever I get the hankering for some swashbuckling painting.

10/15mm Destroyed Bridge. May at some point add water effects.

As you can see, loads of stuff finished and this is only 1 of approx 10 catch up posts I've got in drafts.

FIW Civilians, Zombicide:Black Plague and some Terrain

These were actually finished back in May, but I had a varnishing muckup on a humid day so I got very unmotivated very quickly.  Finally getting around to fixing them and getting them posted.

First up - 4 FIW/AWI 28mm Civilians from Warlord Games.  Painted up easily, decent detail, just a tad on the short side. I personally don't mind that as, "everyone is different" but if you're a scale purist...be warned.

Next we have four Zombicide: Black Plague Survivors. I absolutely love all the minis that CMON has created for all their games and these are no different.  They'll be used for Fantasy or Medieval gaming as well as the boardgame.

Finally, we have some 28mm Jersey Barriers for modern, sci-fi, or post apoc games.  I believe they're from Armorcast.

Coureur des Bois for "Muskets & Tomahawks"

As I slowly work through my lead mountain, I pulled these guys out of the grim dark back of the cupboard where they've been sat for about 8 years to get them done.  North Star Coureur des Bois for The French & Indian War, or I guess in a pinch I can use them as Canadian Militia for AWI.  "Muskets & Tomahawks" by Studio Tomahawk may be my favorite set of rules ever so it's about time I got some more figures done for it.

Exceedingly crisp sculpts with LOTS of detail.  Painting FIW figures is always fun due to the myriad of colors/warpaint etc, and I think these guys turned out pretty well!

6MMRPC - Roger's Rangers

One of my personal favorite games is "Muskets & Tomahawks" by Alex Buchel and Studio Tomahawk.  FIW and AWI gaming being some of my Dad and I's favorite periods.

I've had the three Gripping Beast starter sets for years and have just now gotten around to finishing 6 Roger's Rangers from the British Wilderness Force.  These sculpts are very detailed, but did have some annoying mold lines.  I plan on some day adding more detailing to the bases once I find my box of tufts/flowers/leaves etc.

But anyways, that's a unit of 6 done, can't wait to get them to the table!  Now to tackle something else!

6MMRPC 2.7 - French & Indian War (3): Last of the Hurons!

I have finally finished my Huron War Party for Muskets and Tomahawks.  Took me far too long, but I'm very very pleased with how they turned out!  Sorry for the terrible pictures, I really need to make a light box.

The completed war party in the case!

6MMRPC 2.4 - French & Indian War (1)

So, after painting "The Last of the Mohicans" for my Dad for Father's Day , I decided I wanted to paint more FIW, so over the last 4 days I finished up -

8 Huron Warriors. Sorry for the crappy pic. I gave my Dad his gift two days ago, and he stated that he wanted to play a game with them, so today, he and my youngest brother came down for a game of Muskets & Tomahawks.

I did not take "in game" pics, due to the majority of the forces being (horror, gasp) unpainted, but I did take this picture of the table before deployment -

As you can see: the Blockhouse isn't painted yet, and I'm very terrain light at the moment. That will be rectified ASAP. I have a ton of plans and ideas for terrain and what not.

The game was excellent, fast paced, though it being only the 2nd time I've played, and Dad and my brothers first time, it took some getting used to. M&T is such a smooth, cinematic rule set, we loved it! We had three armies on the field - ignored the points values. Dad = Huron War Party, Brother = Canadian Militia, and I played the massively outnumbered British light infantry with Mohawk Allies.
I promise once my figures are all painted, I'll post up some proper battle reports.

To show you my WIP at the moment -

Needless to say, playing a game with unpainted figures is a huge motivator!

Also, rushing this morning, I finished off this small pond -

Slow progress, but progress none the less!
